Douglas Dietrich Claims his father killed MSgt John C. Woods on Enewetak Atoll: Revisited

Douglas Dietrich ranted about his father, George J. Dietrich after Peter Moon remarked his fathers' experiences were "Forrest Gump-like."

I investigated and refuted this claim over a year ago:

Since Dietrich has now embellished his previous claim, I am taking a second look at the history of John C. Woods, Enewetak Atoll, and this bizarre claim involving murder, his father, and German (Nazi) scientists.

Dietrich embellishes his previous claim:

"My father, at one point in his history, reported John Clarence Woods.  He reported him to the Naval authorities and to the criminal authorities in-area.  John C. Woods was a sailor who was raping children.  When my father reported him to the Naval authorities and the local authorities so that the Navy couldn't cover it up."

"Since the civilian authorities ashore knew about it as well as the Navy authorities, John Clarence Woods couldn't get out of it, they couldn't cover up for him, so the Navy Dishonorably Discharged him, and later on, here was my father again at the atomic test sites, uh, it was either Enewetok or Bikini Atoll or might have been Ulithi, but all we have to do is look up where that motherfucker died.  John Clarence Woods was electrocuted on one of those islands, that's where my father murdered him."

"This was the man who hanged all the Nazis at Nuremberg, came from Kansas, was a human piece of shit who was dishonorably discharged from the Navy, and yet they made him a non-commissioned officer immediately!"

"He was brought into the US Army during World War Two when my dad reported him was before WW2.  During WW2 you get this Dishonorably Discharged child rapist shows up and the US Army immediately commissions him, they instantly made this guy a Master Sergent."

John C. Woods was born on June 5, 1911, and at age 18, enlisted in the US Navy on December 3, 1929.  The 5' 3 1/2", 116 lb Woods reported to Naval Station San Diego, CA for training 3 days later and was initially assigned to the USS Saratoga (CV-3) on February 12, 1930. (1)

Woods' assignment to the Navy's second commissioned aircraft carrier should have been the beginning of an exciting career in the Navy. But it was not to be as Woods reported to "sick call" the day of his assignment and was admitted to the Naval Base Hospital at San Diego.  He was released a week later for duty on the USS Melville (AD-2) (2) awaiting reassignment to the USS Hovey (DD-208). (3)

Woods was authorized leave/liberty for one day on February 23, 1930, but failed to return to the USS Melville.  The Navy declared him a straggler the following morning and on March 6, 1930, declared him a deserter. (4)

Woods avoided apprehension for nearly three weeks and over 1,000 miles, "hoboing" the rails heading east. He would make it as far as La Junta, Colorado when he was apprehended by local police who transported him to a US Navy Recruiting Station in Denver where La Junta Police were paid $50 for apprehending him.

Woods spent 3 days in the Denver City Jail before the Navy took him into custody and transported him back to Naval Base San Diego where he arrived aboard the USS Hovey and was placed in the ship's brig on March 13, 1930.

Seaman 2nd Class Woods would stand a Summary Court Martial on March 31, 1930, and was convicted of being "Absent Over Leave."  He was sentenced to 30 days of solitary confinement aboard the USS Hovey with bread and water (a full ration every third day).

Woods' Commanding Officer, Captain Stuart O. Grieg, attempted to lessen the blow to the young sailor by removing the charge of desertion and ordered that Woods continue to receive pay retroactive to February 24.

Woods served his time in the brig of the USS Hovey and was then transferred to the Naval Hospital at Mare Island, San Francisco for observation under recommendation by the medical officer on April 16, 1930.

A Medical Survey Board convened at Mare Island on April 23, 1930, and submitted the following report:

“This patient, though not intellectually inferior, gives a history of repeatedly running counter to authority both before and since enlistment. Stigmata of degeneration are present and the patient frequently bites his fingernails. He has a benign tumor of the soft palate for which he refuses operation. His commanding officer and division officers state that he shows inaptitude and does not respond to instruction. He is obviously poor service material. This man has had less than five months service. His disability is considered to be an inherent defect for which the service is in no way responsible. [He] is not considered a menace to himself or others.”

Contrary to many reports found on the internet today, Woods was not given a dishonorable discharge from the Navy as the Medical Board Report also provided a diagnosis of "Constitutional Psychopathic Inferiority without Psychosis" and recommended Woods be discharged from Naval service.

Author and military historian Col. French MacLean (USA, Ret) states in his book: American Hangman: MSgt. John C. Woods: The United States Army’s Notorious Executioner in World War II and Nürnberg (2019):

"On May 15, 1930, the United States Navy granted Woods an ordinary discharge for reasons of physical disability in the line of duty and not the result of his own misconduct.  The Navy chain of command had the option to issue the sailor an honorable discharge, but they chose the lesser quality termination.

The sailor was declared to be discharged for the convenience of the government: Woods was not recommended for any further reenlistment. With that, John C. Woods was discharged from the Navy and given $75.89 for his transportation home to Witchita from North Vallejo Wharf near Mare Island." (page 24)

A Separation for the Convenience of the Government is extremely rare and is recommended for reasons which do not fall under any other category. (5) Such a discharge is administrative and in most cases the consequences are minimal if any. It is similar to a Medical Discharge or Entry Level Separation involving a person with less than 180 days of active duty service.

Woods served 5 1/2 months in the US Navy. Of those, he spent one week in the hospital, 3 weeks on the run, and one month in the brig. Contrary to Dietrich's claim, Woods never deployed at sea and was never charged with the raping of children by the US Navy or anyone else.

George J. Dietrich was born on October 23, 1919, and grew up near Rochester, New York. He would have been 10 years old when John C. Woods joined the US Navy. Dietrich would enlist in the Navy himself in June 1941.

Hard Times:

Like almost everyone during the Great Depression, Woods struggled through rough times. He attempted to upgrade his discharge in May 1931 but lied on the form stating he was given an "Honorable Disability Discharge". Woods was promptly issued a replacement for his original discharge type on June 8, 1931.

Fortunately for Woods, and millions of other young men, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.  CCC Camps were administered by US Army Reserve Officers and Enlisted men. It provided manual labor jobs, food, clothing, and shelter with a wage of $30 per month until it was disbanded in 1942. (6)

Woods was accepted into the program at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas on June 4, 1933, claiming he had experience as a mechanic. The Camp Commander assigned him to the Mess Hall as a cook where Woods worked without any issues until June 23 when he was transferred to "CCC Company 1715" in Toronto where a man-made lake was being constructed.

But sometime after a promotion to "Mess Sergeant", Woods went AWOL again on September 21, 1933.  He was given a Dishonorable Discharge from the CCC on September 27, 1933, for refusing to work, going AWOL, and insubordination. 

Very shortly after, Woods married Hazel Chilcott, a local Eureka Kansas woman who worked as a nurse. He worked odd jobs and as a laborer at the local feed store. In December 1939 Woods bounced a $50 check. He plead guilty, was ordered to pay the victim and a $500 fine, and was placed on two years probation. He was registered with the Selective Service in Greenwood County in 1940.

The US Army issued two draft calls for the County in the summer of 1941 and Woods was required to report to Ft. Leavenworth both times. Woods was rejected for service each time, probably because he remained on probation. 

He would report for possible induction a 3rd time on August 23, 1943, and was inducted into the US Army on August 30. Woods (now age 32) deployed to England in early 1944 and was assigned to Company B, 37th Engineer Combat Battalion, 5th Engineer Special Brigade at South Wales. (7)

According to historian/author Col. French MacLean, who obtained a copy of Wood's Official Army Personnel File from the National Archives and Records Administration, 

"This study found no official documents placing Woods away from his unit when it participated in the landing at Omaha Beach on June 6. Additionally, members of the battalion present at Normandy on June 6 were later authorized to wear unit awards of the Presidential Unit Citation and the French Croix de Guerre with palm.

Woods's personnel file in 1950 authorizes a Distinguished Unit Badge and the Presidential Unit Citation. Woods also wore two official Army patches on his uniform associated with combat units on D-Day. Given those observations, this study believes that John Woods was on Omaha Beach at Normandy on D-day, slugging it out with the rest of his buddies." (p. 30)

Shortly after Normandy, Woods lied his way into volunteering for the Army's desperate request for men with experience in hanging. He was eventually chosen and orders were issued from the European Theater of Operations (ETO) Command Brig. Gen. R.B. Lord (Chief of Staff) that:

"G-1 has promised to provide the grade recommended by me for the hangman in order to compensate him in a small measure for the work he is to perform. I am recommending the hangman be made a Master Sergeant and assistant hangman a T/3 (Staff Sergeant)."

With that, Private John C. Woods was promoted to Master Sergeant in October 1944, (a pay increase from $50 a month to $138) and his brief, notorious career as a hangman began. (8)

Woods performed as the primary executioner in the hangings of 34 U.S. soldiers at various locations in France from 1944 to 1945 and assisted in at least three others. U.S. Army reports suggest that Woods participated in at least 11 bungled hangings of U.S. soldiers between 1944 and 1946.

Woods also participated in the execution of about 45 war criminals at various locations including Nuremberg where many of the Nazis he executed fell from the gallows with a drop insufficient to snap their necks, resulting in their death by strangulation that in some cases lasted several minutes.

Woods later appeared in photographs wearing his US Army uniform with seven service stripes sewn on his left sleeve. Normally, a service stripe in the US Army would reflect 3 years of active duty service and seven would indicate 21 years of service.  At that time Woods had served less than three years in the US Army.

I have not found anyone who can explain this.  It is possible he may have used this embellishment to conceal the actual achievement of his rank in order to avoid scrutiny.

But for the purposes of this post, I will move forward to 1950 and Woods's assignment to Enewetok Atoll and Douglas Dietrich's ridiculous claim that Woods was murdered by his father George Joseph Dietrich.

Enewetok

Enewetok is an islet on the Southeast portion of a large coral atoll in the North Pacific Marshall Islands.

Enewetok was captured by US Forces on February 23, 1944, and became a major forward operations base for the US Navy. (10) Following WW2 it was part of the Pacific Proving Grounds used for the testing of nuclear weapons from 1946 - 1962.

Following his post-war service in Germany, MSgt John C. Woods was assigned to units in Camp Gordon, GA, and Ft. Belvoir, VA. On January 12, 1950, Woods was assigned to the 7th Engineer Brigade "Joint Task Force Three."

The unit moved in staggard elements to Camp Stoneman, CA for training in 1950 and prepared for deployment overseas. Elements of the unit, including Woods, departed San Franciso on March 4, 1950, aboard the USAT Gen. A.W. Brewster (AP-155) and arrived at Enewetok on March 16, 1950. (p. 130)

"Joint Task Force Three" arrived at Enewetok two years after the first nuclear test Operation Sandstone (April-May) 1948  and one year before Operation Greenhouse (April-May) 1951.

This unclassified 1951 video "Operation Greenhouse" was produced for Joint Task Force Three by US Air Force and the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). The video gives a unique insight into the scale of operations.

Joint Task Force Three had its work cut out for it in preparation for Operation Greenhouse and engineers worked day and night. According to Col. MacLean, "Engineers constructed 197 buildings and poured 450,000 square yards of asphalt."

In order to produce cement, a quarry was constructed on the northeast portion of Enewetok that extended into the coral reef.  The island was only about 10 feet above sea level and the result was a shallow "pit" where seawater flowed into various locations at high tide.

George Joseph Dietrich (PO1 USN, Ret)

Douglas Dietrich's father, George Joseph Dietrich enlisted in the US Navy on June 26, 1941, and served honorably until he retired at the rank of Petty Officer First Class (E-6) on August 16, 1965.

George Dietrich was assigned as a cook to the heavy cruiser USS Pittsburgh (CA-72) during WW2 and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two stars for participating in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He re-enlisted in the Navy in December 1945.

According to the National Archives and Records Administration (NPRC),  George Dietrich deployed to the Pacific aboard the Attack Cargo Ship USS Virgo (AKA-20) from June 1949 to January 1950. His next assignment was the Navy Yard in Brooklyn, NY until February 1951 when he reported to AFSC, Norfolk, Virginia.

This proves that George J. Dietrich was over 7,000 miles away from Enewetok Atoll on July 21, 1950.

Douglas Dietrich's Lie: "My father got away with murder."

As Dietrich tells it, his father hung out with German scientists from Operation Paperclip on Enewetok Atoll (who were secretly Nazis and wanted to kill Woods).  And on July 21, 1950, his father knocked Woods into the water and then tossed him a live wire cable that Woods grabbed, electrocuting him.

My father met them and of course, they instantly took a liking to him because they could see his name on his uniform. "Dietrich." While clinging to a lightbulb, standing in a pool of water, Woods was electrocuted. His death came faster than any of the Nazi war criminals he had executed. So, the way the Army proposed this, he was standing in a pool of water changing light bulbs when a current of electricity coursed through the water, and Woods screamed and fell back into the water dead.

Now, of course, everyone knew this death was suspicious, and the public did not fail to notice the presence of German scientists working on the atoll for the US weapons program, either way, MSgt John C. Woods's exit was quicker than his victims.

His death was a pedestrian end for a man who once held the world's stage.  But his death was most certainly not an accident.  What happened was when he fell into the water, my father threw him an open electrical line and like an idiot, he grabbed for it because a drowning man will even grab the tip of a sword.

It was my father who knocked him into the water and it was my father who handed him the cable and had the satisfaction of watching him fry in the water where my father said he lit up light a light bulb.  My father was interrogated and they asked him what did you see, he said "he lit up like a light bulb" my father was worried he was going to spend the rest of his life in prison but the interrogator wrote down Woods died screwing in a light bulb and my father was dismissed.

So my father got away with murder, the German scientists and engineers helped him and I was warned this was something that would destroy my family name. I am proud of what the man who raised and guided me did and if I had been there with him I would have helped."

The Death of MSgt John Woods

On the night of July 21, 1950, Woods was informed by Pvt. Richard G. Griffin that the lights at the quarry were out. Griffin and others had stopped hauling rock for the night and a drilling crew was preparing to go to work. Woods sent Griffin to fetch two replacement bulbs for the lighting set.  

Floodlights were used to illuminate the quarry at night and were operated using generators. In this case, the generator switch for the lighting was located in a tool shack. Woods and Griffin replaced the bulbs but the lights still did not work so they began checking the line running from the edge of the waterline back to the switch box and Griffin found a break in the line.

Woods sent Griffin to turn the switch off, which he did, and grabbed pliers and friction tape from the tool shed. Griffin said Woods then hollered for him to turn the switch off because he thought current was still in the line.  After Griffin told Woods he had already done so, Woods went to check the switch himself to make sure and the two returned to fix the break in the line.

As Griffin, standing only a few feet away, held the line for Woods to splice, he felt a shock and threw down the line as Woods screamed and fell backward into the water. Griffin then yelled to a Cpl. Blanchard to call the ambulance and for Cpl Mahone to hold the switch down. Then Mahone and another soldier pulled Woods from the water. (p. 132)

An investigation conducted by 1Lt. Avery L. Granger later determined that Cpl. Ernest L. Blanchard,  reporting for his shift in the quarry noticed the lights were off and unaware that Woods and Griffin were down in the quarry, had turned the switch on.  Granger's report stated that although Blanchard had thrown the switch on, the accident was not the result of gross negligence and there was no indication of foul play. (p. 133)

Rumor and Speculation

It wasn't long before rumors and speculation about Woods's death began to surface, first from sources in Europe, then in the U.S. French magazine, Ici Paris reported that Woods was killed on July 25 by an exploding electric chair and that German scientists, (loyal Nazi's) were working at Enewetok and were responsible for his death.

German  newspaper Der Spiegel said Woods had joined an "intelligence service" but left it so he could continue executions using an electric chair and when testing it, "received a lethal shock of 25,000 volts." The London News of the World said that it must have been an underground Nazi agent on Enewetok who killed him.

To my knowledge, Col. French MacLean is the only person who has researched the life and death of John C. Woods. One thing is for certain, George J. Dietrich never reported Woods to the US Navy and was nowhere near Enewetok Atoll on July 21, 1950.

"Peter Moon" Falsely Claims He Avoided Vietnam Draft

Dietrich supporter and publisher Vincent Edward Barbarick (aka "Peter Moon")  falsely claims he avoided being drafted during Vietnam by joining the Church of Scientology.

After Dietrich stated that 75 percent of the troops who served in Vietnam had volunteered and that 75 percent of troops serving in World War Two were drafted, Vincent Barbarick said:

 "Really, really? The Vietnam War as I experienced it was all about the draft, it was like everybody was getting drafted."

According to Mylife.com. Vincent Edward Barbarick was born in 1953 and he would have been age 16 when he said that President Nixon initiated a Draft Lottery.

"On December 1, 1969, the Selective Service System of the United States conducted two lotteries to determine the order of call to military service in the Vietnam War in the year 1970, for men born from January 1, 1944, to December 31, 1950.

These lotteries occurred during a period of conscription in the United States that lasted from 1947 to 1973. It was the first time a lottery system had been used to select men for military service since 1942. The lottery would establish the priority of call based on the birth dates of registrants."

Draft lotteries were conducted again from 1971 to 1975 (for 1952 to 1956 births). The birth year of 1952 was the last draftees, with the assigned number 95 being the last number drafted, which represented those born on July 20, 1952. 

The draft numbers issued from 1972 to 1975 were not used to call any men into service as the last draft call was on December 7, and the authority to induct expired on July 1, 1973.^[7] They were used, however, to call some men born from 1953 to 1956 for armed forces physical examinations. The highest number called for a physical was 215 (for tables 1970 through 1976).^[7] Between 1965 and 1972 the draft provided 2,215,000 service members to the U.S. military".^[13]

"Ministers Deferrment":

Moon said, "The student deferment was a good way to avoid the draft, and had I taken advantage of it, the War would have been over, you know, by the time my college would have been done. I ended up with a 'Minister's Deferment in Scientology."

"And I kind of forgot about it, my draft number was not picked and after that, I just forgot about it, I was out of the Country, initially, and I was then protected."

(Moon said he had a draft card and would have to have submitted documentation to the Selective Service as proof of being a Minister in the Church of Scientology).

 According to the Scientology website:

 "Those trained to deliver Scientology ceremonies and other spiritual counseling are referred to as ministers. It is a prerequisite for permanent certification as an auditor to become an ordained minister, but one need not have this certification to become officially ordained in the Church of Scientology."

The reality is actually that Barbarick was too young to have been drafted during the Vietnam War.

Barbarick would have turned 18 in 1971 and has previously stated he joined the Church of Scientology in 1973.  Inductions (drafts) had slowed to a trickle by 1971 as the War in Vietnam drew to an end.

Barbarick would not have been eligible to register for Selective Service until 1971 and would not have been affected by the draft at all, regardless of having a "Minister's Deferment" to the Church of Scientology.

Vietnam Draft ended on January 27, 1973

"On this day in 1973, as the Vietnam War drew to a close, the Selective Service announced that there would be no further draft calls. The decision came several months after President Richard M. Nixon had easily won reelection, running against Democratic Sen. George McGovern of South Dakota, an outspoken opponent of the war."

Despite my proving his claims of military service are total imaginary bullshit and providing documentation from the National Archives (NPRC) and the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) as proof, Dietrich continues to lie about and embellish the story.

Dietrich briefly restated this claim and slander me in a recent October 5, 2022 Livestream: (2:01:25 - 2:16:35) where he also introduced an embellishment to another claim of having been a mercenary in combat in Bosnia.

Just for "shits and giggles" let's assume he actually graduated USMC Basic Training (he didn't) and that he also completed the required infantry training to be assigned a MOS 0351 (he didn't),  let's compare the details of his BS story to the actual facts.

Dietrich has never said where he attended Infantry Training School (ITS) or what unit he was assigned to report to after completing that training.  That represents approximately one year's gap before he says he deployed for Operation Desert Shield, during which he also claims to have been promoted to Corporal. This is impossible given the strict promotion regulations in the USMC. Promotion from PFC to CPL normally takes a minimum of 3 years of service.

Operation Desert Shield was created by Presidential Order on August 7, 1990, and the first US Marines arrived beginning on August 21.  These were logistics elements from the 7th Marine Expeditionary Brigade. 

Dietrich says he was part of Task Force Taro, which is the 3rd Marine Infantry Regiment, part of the Third Marine Expeditionary Force that deployed to Saudi Arabia from Hawaii.

Dietrich claims the Al Jubail incident occurred on either  April 7, 1990 (on a Jim Fetzer show) or August 7, 1990 (His own LinkedIn Bio)

Note:  The "Normal 5-year hitch" Dietrich states is total bullshit.  Marines at that time normally enlisted for a period of 4 years of active duty with a 2-year Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR) commitment totaling 6 years of service. Others enlisting to serve as Active Reservists normally signed a 2-3 year contract.

And Dietrich wrote that he had wanted to "pursue his Mercenary work domestically" - WTF is up with that?

"3rd Marines was one of the first combat forces to deploy to Saudi Arabia in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. The regiment, which became known as Task Force Taro in honor of the state and people of Hawaii, became the first American unit to be engaged by Iraqi artillery, rocket and missile fire on 18 January 1991. 

They countered the Iraqi supporting attacks by conducting artillery raids into Kuwait as the first ground offensive actions of the war. Dietrich claims he was "on leave" at the time of the incident at Al Jubail and that his "squad" attempted to intervene after he killed two Saudis.  This is absolutely untrue.  Marines are not given "leave" or "liberty" under such conditions.  Desert Shield was an Operation and not a routine deployment.  Normally a Squad Leader in an 0351 Platoon would be a Sgt, not a Cpl.

Dietrich has never mentioned what unit he served with.  He has never named a Regimental or Battalion Commander, Company Commander, not even a Squad Leader or a single person he ever served with.  Because he didn't!

Had Dietrich committed the crime of murder in Saudi Arabia, and been in Saudi custody, you can bet it would have been an International incident.  But it never happened.  As for his claim of Dishonorable Discharge, he would have been demoted more than one rank for sure and removed from the battle area immediately.

He would most likely have been removed from his unit and transferred to Correctional Custody aboard a US Navy vessel and then transported to the US for Courts-Martial. But Dietrich claims he was simply reduced by one rank and allowed to serve with his unit through Operation Desert Storm.  

Such a crime would not only result in a Dishonorable Discharge but also years in Federal/Military prison.  Yet Dietrich simply walks free, and returns to his previous "job at the Presidio as a Military Reference Technician."

As for the "conditions" Dietrich claims he was released under, specifically the claim he remained an "Active Duty US Marine" (a civilian) and reported for duty "under illegal orders" to San Diego (MCRD) or Camp Pendelton California, and to appear in gay porn films, that is an embellishment that destroys his claim of being given a Dishonorable Discharge.

Anyone researching the "scandals" Dietrich attempts to associate himself with will note that they weren't scandals at all. The "Marine gay/illegal child porn scandal" he claims actually occurred in 1993, not 1991.  

Investigations by the USMC and civilian law enforcement found it did not involve US Marines or underage "illegal alien boys".

Douglas Dietrich and the Dr. John Henry Hagmann Lie

The claim:

Douglas Dietrich has claimed he was hospitalized at age 14 in 1980 (but other times claimed at age 12  in 1978) due to an obscure medical condition (bleeding ulcer) requiring a total blood transfusion. He claims he was hospitalized at the US Army Post Presidio's Letterman Army Medical Center under the care of Dr. John Henry Hagmann.

His claim was initially exposed by Steven Outtrim in a 2016 blog post:

Dietrich began telling the bizarre story beginning in 2015.  He described his situation as having been life-threatening and a lack of available or contaminated blood supply due to the AIDS epidemic required his parents to agree to an experimental "Nano Blood" transfusion which "changed the polarity of his blood" from one type to another.

Dietrich claims he was "legally dead" for a period of over 48 hours" but his mother performed an occult spell that "re-animated" him.

He later embellished the story to include the claim he is a "1/4 vampire".  And that under the care of Dr. John H. Hagmann, he was forced to have sex (under observation with cameras) in a US Army hospital with a young "slave" woman who had been tattooed with an identification code.  He also claimed to have discovered that a Canadian woman who followed him on the internet was actually his biological daughter as a result of that "experiment."

I would later confront the woman he claimed to be his daughter, (Zoraah Juin Fu Mock) and find his claims about her were not true.

In recent years Dietrich has rarely mentioned this previous claim.  After reviewing some unpublished drafts from this blog, I decided to research the doctor he described.  A Dr. John Henry Hagmann, MD, US Army.

The Facts:

Douglas Dietrich was never a military dependant and never would have had access to the Presidio Army Post and would have been aged 12-14 from 1978-1980.

In addition, had Dietrich actually undergone such a procedure, his blood would have been tested during his Military MEPS Exam prior to his enlistment in the USMC in 1987 and he would have been rejected for military service.

John Henry Hagman was born in 1956 and was commissioned in the US Army Medical Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant, MD in 1980. His specialty in the field was battlefield trauma. 

I found no evidence of Hagmann ever being assigned to Letterman Army Medical Center at the Presidio during the years Dietrich described or after.  

As a trauma doctor and lower-ranking officer in the early 80s, Hagmann would not have been conducting unusual experiments on individual patients and certainly not on underage civilians as Dietrich has described.

Hagmann also attended the U.S. Military's Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences at Bethesda, MD (https://www.usuhs.edu/) where he became an educator and researcher for most of his career.

In his billet as a researcher and educator at the U.S. Military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Hagmann participated in various research studies prior to and after 1990 involving the effects of weaponry on the human body, the improvement of body armor, and other studies.

Many of those studies are available online and it is obvious he contributed to them as a member of a US Army Medical Research team.

Hagmann eventually retired as a Lt. Col in 2000 and shortly after created a private business as a consultant.  After the events of 911 in 2001, his business exploded.

Hagmann became a private contractor for the US military in about 2005 for various Commands including US Special Forces.  Hagmann was closely observed, however, and in at least one case after Special Forces Officers evaluated his training techniques, Hagmann was refused access to a US Naval Base.

Hagmann was eventually accused of some really sick things involving active duty military officers who volunteered for his training. You can read all about it yourselves.

Hagmann appeared to have escaped the notice of military officials for nearly a decade, but all of it came to a head in the summer of 2013!

Obviously, Douglas Dietrich picked up on news reports at that time and then created another bullshit story to add to his bio.

Conclusion:

Dietrich dragged this asshole into his own perverted story. Hagmann was at Bethesda, MD as an educator and research MD.  Not much about him is at all available, but it's obvious that Dietrich used the news stories about Hagmann in 2015 as the basis for it.

Hagmann was investigated and his medical license was suspended and later revoked by the Virginia Board of Medicine in 2015. You can read that document in the source below.

National Archives - NPRC Response to FOIA Request: David Lewis Anderson

I received a response today from the National Archives and Records Administration, National Personnel Records Center regarding the service record of David Lewis Anderson.

(I submitted the request in January). The letter states:  "We have been unsuccessful in identifying a military service record for the above-named individual."

The response concurs with a previous request to the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) which yielded no result.

I plan to contact NPRC per the response letter to confirm the required info from the January 2022 FOIA request. 

This comes as a surprise as I had expected to receive his record including a duty assignment on Guam and his resignation from his commission (retirement).  But in my experience, this type of response is indicative of a false claim of military service.

Should Mr. Anderson be inclined to dispute this, I encourage him to contact me and/or publish documentation publicly as evidence of his military service.

In previous investigations, I have always given the person the benefit of the doubt.  And I have not accused Anderson of falsely claiming to be a USAF Officer.  However, my investigation has shown the following:

- Anderson lied about being a scientist in the USAF

- Anderson lied to his brother-in-law about his military service.

- Anderson lied about his military training and job description.

- Anderson lied about his duty assignments

- Anderson lied about his education

- Anderson lied about the conditions under which he resigned his commission.

- Anderson lied about operating research laboratories.

- Anderson was fired from an executive job position for failing a background check.

If he would lie about everything else. it is entirely logical he would also lie about serving as a USAF Officer for 4 years.

I contacted the NPRC Archives Technician who processed my FOIA request and they confirmed that Anderson's information I submitted was sufficient to conduct a search for his record.  

They commented to me that a Social Security Number (or Service Number) is not required and that many who make false claims of service also lie about full legal names and their date and place of birth.

Douglas Dietrich Made False Reports to Authorities to Harass Former Followers

Two of three former associates of Douglas Dietrich have now publicly alleged that he contacted authorities in two states accusing them of "elder abuse" and "child welfare endangerment".

Salman Shiekh and Jameson Reese have both published a public statement on YouTube detailing the recent attacks by Douglas Dietrich against them.

According to Sheikh and Reese, Dietrich, a San Francisco, CA resident,  contacted  New York and Pennsylvania authorities and filed "anonymous complaints" against them.

A third former associate has disclosed to me privately that similar reports were made against them resulting in a similar situation.  In some cases, investigators arrived unannounced at homes to interview family members and themselves.

Dietrich has a history of contacting law enforcement to request "wellness checks" on several of his former followers as a form of harassment.  These illegal actions by Dietrich against former associates continue to occur weeks after their withdrawal and subsequent slander and defamation by him.

The recent actions by Dietrich are proof he is a total sociopath and hopefully, law enforcement will take action to deter or end his stalking and harassment.

Douglas Dietrich did not shut down the US Army Post Presidio

For decades, Douglas Dietrich has based his own credibility on falsely claiming that he was responsible for single-handedly causing the closure of the US Army Post Presidio and by extension, removing an entire Division from the United States Army.

6th US Army

The Sixth Division of the US Army had its headquarters at the Presidio of San Francisco.  The 6th Army's primary goal and mission objective was to provide training to Reserve Units serving the 12 Western States.

Dietrich continues to claim that he had been exposing child abuse occurring at the Presidio Child Development Center in 1986.

Dietrich says he was secretly reporting to law enforcement and personally caused the arrest of Gary W. Hambright, who he also claims was his former art teacher in high school.

He also claims to have been the "understudy" of Lt.Col. Michael Aquino.

Michael Aquino consistently denied ever knowing or being involved in any way with Dietrich until his death in 2019.  

His book:  Extreme Prejudice: The Presidio "Satanic Abuse" Scam, contains information and copies of official documents that refute Dietrich's story.

My research found:

- Douglas Dietrich was living in Oakland, Ca (not San Francisco) at the time.

- He was never a civilian librarian employed by the DOD at the Presidio.

- He agreed to a delayed enlistment in the USMC in October 1986.

- No evidence that Dietrich was involved as an informant or contributed to the investigation

- Dietrich had no knowledge of Gary W. Hambright.  Dietrich has falsely claimed that Hambright was the Director of the Child Development Center.

- Dietrich was never consulted by local media sources.

- No evidence that Michael Aquino was involved with Dietrich.

- The Presidio was closed during a post-Cold War reduction in force following an act of Congress in 1988.

In 1980 a Canadian psychiatrist named Lawrence Pazder published Michelle Remembers, a book in which his client / wife Michelle Smith alleged that (a) as a child she had been sexually abused by Satanists and (b) because the experience had been so traumatic, she had repressed all memory of it until Pazder's "therapy" revived it.

On September 30, 1990 London's Mail on Sunday newspaper, as the result of extensive investigation into Smith's background - to include interviews with her father, her first husband, her neighbors, and Canadian occult historians of the 1950s - exposed the book as a fraud. But in the intervening ten years Michelle Remembers inspired a devastating epidemic of copycat accusations directed against legitimate Satanists, non-Satanic occultists, and many other innocent people who had nothing whatever to do with the occult.

A secondary theme - Satanic preying upon children in day-care facilities - was invented by Judy Johnson, a woman diagnosed with acute paranoid schizophrenia by the UC Irvine Medical Center, when in 1983 she alleged that Michelle-style "Satanic sex rituals" had been practiced on her child at the McMartin Preschool in Los Angeles. From the dates Dietrich gives in his "bio",  he was working full time as a Civilian DOD employee "Librarian" at the Presidio Post Library while also attending college(s) full-time until 1989.

He also claims that he was re-hired by the DOD as a "Librarian/Military Reference Technician"  from 1991  to 1992 while also attending an acting school.

Dietrich wrote:

The Day Care center was building 387 (not 666), located next to the Post Library (building 386 built in 1960), where Dietrich falsely claims to have been a DOD Librarian.

Dietrich claims to have witnessed children with bleeding anuses while working in the library and treated them by using tampons he had taken from the library's women's bathroom as "first aid".

Think about that.  What were unsupervised, injured children doing in the library, hundreds of feet from the Child Development Center?  And how could he possibly have treated any of them as he described without their parents knowing or eventually finding out?

Dietrich was never a DOD civilian employee and did not have access to the Presidio  (1986). 

This document, obtained from the Department of Defense Manpower Data Center (DMPC) shows Dietrich was employed by the DOD  for 90 days as a US Marine recruit.

Had he ever been employed as a civilian by the DOD, his job title and dates of employment would be shown.  

No such details are shown.  Proving Dietrich was never employed as a civilian by the DOD.

Presidio Scandal:

Dietrich claims Gary W. Hambright was his art teacher in high school. 

Dietrich would have had no association with Hambright after 1983, but suddenly began reporting him to the SFPD in 1986-87, specifically detective Sandi Gallant, claiming Hambright had a stash of child porn hidden in the art department supplies at John O'Connell High School and was also abusing children at the Presidio Daycare Center.  

Hambright was a substitute teacher who had worked in San Francisco schools for many years until he took a job at the Presidio Development Center in June 1985.

Hambright was arrested for the first time in December 1986 and indicted in January 1987  following a November 1986 complaint by Joyce Tobin (wife of US Army Captain (Chaplain) Michael Tobin, assigned to the Presidio concerning their 3-year-old son David Tobin. 

Not as a result of any report to police by Douglas Dietrich. 

The fact Hambright was a substitute teacher is a key piece of information that indicates Dietrich likely only saw Hambright in his art class as a substitute from time to time, and only until 1983 when he says he received a GED. 

Police and media reports made no mention of a secreted stash of child porn at John Oconnoll HS, in fact, possession of child porn was never associated with Hambright.

And since he did not work as a librarian at the Presidio Post Library, Dietrich would also have had no idea Hambright was working at the child care center.  Dietrich likely became aware of this in December 1986 or early 1987 from local news reporting Hambright's arrest.

This was also one month after Dietrich agreed to a delayed enlistment in the USMC.

Dietrich did not close down the Child Care Center:

September 22, 1987 

"A fire which the Army deemed to be accidental, destroyed the Army Community Services Building adjacent to the Presidio's daycare center. Strangely enough, “the fire occurred on the autumnal equinox, a major event on the satanic calendar,” as the Mercury News noted. The fire also destroyed some of the center's records. 

“Three weeks later, fire struck again, this time at the daycare center itself.” Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms determined that “both fires, contrary to the Army's finding, had been arson.”

"ARMY WILL CLOSE CHILD-CARE CENTER":

 November 16, 1987

The Army announced it is closing and demolishing a child-care center at its base at the Presidio after allegations that as many as 60 youngsters were sexually abused there.

Maj. Greg Rixon, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon, said the Presidio Child Development Center would be closed Friday and a new center would be opened by April.

A Presidio spokesman, Bob Mahoney, said the closing, which was disclosed Saturday, was for ”health, safety and sanitation reasons and not as a result of allegations of child abuse.”

But Representative Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, said Army officials had told her earlier that some children were afraid to return to the center.

Incredibly, no mention was made by local news sources of the fire in relation to the closing as directed by the Presidio Post Commander.

Dietrich claims Hambright lived in a church:

Dietrich would have been required to physically file a written police report with the SFPD. Yet no such report exists and no mention of Dietrich has ever been made in any court transcript, police document, or news report associated with the scandal.

Not the Dolares St Baptist Church at 1268 Sanchez St, San Francisco, CA where Dietrich claimed Hambright was living.

The case against Gary Hambright collapsed in February. And in March 1987, when a federal judge disallowed hearsay testimony from parents and therapists, prosecutors asked that the case be dismissed. 

Michael Aquino:

Lt. Col Aquino had been assigned to the Presidio until 1986 when he was selected to attend the National Defense University in Washington, DC  where he also attended George Washington University until 1987.  Aquino and his wife were largely unaware of the scandal at the Presidio while on Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD) living in Washington, DC.

Unfortunately for Aquino, a fellow Army Officer, Captain (Chaplain) Michael Tobin, and his wife began making allegations against him in the summer of 1987 following his reassignment to the Presidio. Ultimately, Aquino was never charged nor indicted and the accusations against him were eventually found to be baseless.

Aquino's alibi:

Dietrich’s claim that he "vouched for Aquino" to investigators that Aquino was not in San Francisco or at the Presidio on any of the alleged dates is disproved by Aquino himself, in his own alibi that he provided to the SFPD, FBI, and Army CID.

Aquino documents the details of the scandal pertaining to himself in his 2014 book "Extreme Prejudice: The Presidio Satanic Abuse Scam" where no mention of Douglas Dietrich is ever made.

Radio influence of Mae Brussel:

Popular radio host and researcher Mae Brussel had been following the scandals beginning in 1983 with the McMartin Preschool and later the Presidio until 1987 and reported about and commented about them on the radio.  She continued to do so following the acquittal of Gary Hambright and the subsequent accusations against Michael Aquino in the summer of 1987 and the resulting investigations. 

Douglas Dietrich may well have listened to Brussels radio shows during the time he was living in Oakland, CA. 

I believe this was the first time Dietrich heard of Michael Aquino and his connection to Satanism and that this inspired Dietrich to create the bizarre story many years later of his own involvement in order to achieve attention and credibility within the conspiracy community.

Enlistment in USMC

In October 1986, (two months before the first arrest of Gary Hambright) Dietrich agreed to a one-year delayed enlistment in the US Marine Corps and became a USMC "poolee." 

The program was designed by recruiters to motivate and better prepare potential recruits for basic training.

Dietrich would have participated in these activities with other "poolees" and any outstanding issues such as traffic tickets or court fees or fines would have been resolved and paid for by the USMC with the recruiter personally visiting the appropriate offices with the potential recruit in tow.

Had Dietrich actually been an active informant to local law enforcement about Hambright and the Presidio child abuse scandal, his recruiter would have known about it because this would have posed a serious impediment to his enlistment as it could have potentially required him to testify as a witness during a trial.

The same would have applied to his involvement in the case of Michael Aquino who was under investigation beginning in July 1987. 

But Dietrich was never an informant and had no involvement with the Presidio whatsoever.  He completed his year as a "poolee" and was processed at the Oakland, CA, Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) where he underwent physical, dental and medical evaluations and signed a contract of enlistment that guaranteed him the rank of E-2 (PFC) upon completion of boot camp and took the Oath of Enlistment. 

The document shows his place of enlistment to be Oakland, CA, not San Francisco, CA as he has claimed.

This proves that Dietrich was not living in the City of San Francisco during the Presidio Child Care Scandal (1986-1987).

Dietrich then reported for recruit training on Oct 19, 1987, at MCRD San Diego, CA.  One month after the suspicious fire at the Presidio daycare center occurred, and one month before the daycare center was closed prior to being demolished in November 1987.

But for some unknown reason, Dietrich was determined by his Drill Instructors and Recruit Series Commander to be unfit for service and given an Entry Level Separation Discharge (ELS) on January 11, 1988.

Obtaining Dietrich's records:

The documents were legally obtained by me, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act of 1974 from the National Archives and Records Administration in 2016 and are considered to be "a matter of public record."

My request was screened and processed by Document Technicians at the National Personnel Records Center, St. Louis, MO.  The NA Form 13164 clearly states the information was "Releasable Under the Freedom of Information Act" 

They were neither altered nor forged and the public display of these documents does not violate the Privacy Act and is allowed under the guidelines of "Fair Use" for the purposes of investigative reporting and education.

Douglas Dietrich was not a US Marine because he did not complete the 90 days of basic training (active duty as a recruit), and did not meet the 180-day minimum active duty requirement for being a US Veteran.

Base Closure:

As the Cold War drew to an end, the Department of Defense prepared to make adjustments to its budget and prepared for a reduction in force (RIF) including the deployment of US Forces abroad and its forces on bases within the continental United States (CONUS).

A similar reduction in force had previously been conducted by the US Army in 1975 following the war in Vietnam.

In May 1988, four months after Dietrich was given an Entry Level Separation from the USMC, the Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC) included the Presidio among its list of nearly 150 DOD facilities across the country and overseas to be closed. 

The Presidio then began the process of "drawdown" and finally sent its remaining training units in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990 and 1991.

In October 1994 the Sixth Army was officially inactivated and the Presidio was closed as an active U.S. Army installation per BRAC. The Presidio was then transferred to the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service.

According to a December 19, 1990 report by the San Francisco Examiner, “Massive S.F. Police Shakeup” 

 “Massive S.F. Police Shake-Up”  New Chief Casey to Reassign 16 of 22 Captains, Abolish Department Intelligence Unit  by Larry Maatz of the Examiner Staff  Malcolm Glover of The Examiner Staff contributed to this report.  December 19, 1990  In one of the most far-reaching shake-ups in the history of the San Francisco Police  Department, newly-appointed Police Chief Willis Casey is disbanding the Department’s  controversial Intelligence Division and is reassigning 16 of the force’s 22 captains.  Within the week Casey also will announce the reassignment of more than half the  department’s 78 lieutenants. “Simply put, it’s time for a change,” Casey said late  Tuesday. “I can’t make it any more clear than that.”  Casey plans to announce the changes Wednesday."

In addition, the US Army since 1988 had been left to deal with the nearly $60 million dollars in lawsuits by parents made against it. 

The parents' claims were denied by the US Army but the greedy parents then filed civil suits that resulted in messy civil trials involving monetary awards which the parents were later found to have controlled and extorted from the children for years long after the scandal.
