Part 4: "Review"

Fact or Fiction?

The secret diary of Adm. Richard E. Byrd, Jr. and Operation Highjump

Patriot Outlaws Radio - February 29, 2020

Part 4: "Review"

Introduction: (Mack Wood)

Gunner: I have received a number of questions as a result of this series and while researching answers to them I keep finding more examples of a hoax which has been disseminated throughout hollow earth and neo-Nazi and UFO/conspiracy groups.

People have asked about:

- ADM Byrd funding by John D. Rockefeller, Jr
- Antarctic Masonic Lodge 777 and Byrd
- The authenticity of Nazi maps of Neu Schwabenland
- A letter from a crewman of U-209
- Disappearances of ships after Highjump (USS Pine Island)
- JATO use before Highjump? 1st operational use?
- Flights over Poles?
- "Mysterious" death of Byrd's son.

Oh, and what's this? Douglas Dietrich had a comment last Sunday after parts 2 and 3:

Well, that wasn't very nice. I guess some people just don't handle criticism very well.

Rockefeller Support:

He made his first flight to the Arctic in 1925 but made no monumental achievements. He later secured funding from such well-known people as John D. Rockefeller and Edsel Ford. He also convinced some media outlets such as the New York Times and CBS to help fund his next flight in exchange for news coverage.

On 9 May 1926, Byrd flew a Fokker F-VII called “Josephine Ford” from Spitsbergen Norway toward the North Pole in one of the most controversial fights in history. Based on his flight logs, people still debate whether or not he actually made it to the Pole. But after analyzing Byrd’s diary, archivist Raimund Goerler came to the conclusion that Byrd genuinely believed that he had reached the pole.  The flight was funded by Edsel Ford and Byrd named the plane after Fords daughter.

Byrd’s next attempt was to be the first to fly non-stop across the Atlantic. Unfortunately, after a test flight crashed on 20 April 1927, he would eventually become the third to cross on 29 June.

First Antarctic expedition (1928–1930)

In order to finance and gain both political and public support for his expeditions, Byrd actively cultivated relationships with many powerful individuals. These individuals included but were not limited to, President Franklin RooseveltHenry FordEdsel FordJohn D. Rockefeller, Jr., and Vincent Astor. As a token of his gratitude, Byrd named geographic features in the Antarctic after his supporters (Rockefeller Mountains).  He gave Rockefeller a stuffed Emporer Penguin as a gift for his financial support. He also named "Marie Byrd Land" after his wife.

("Marie Byrd Land is the largest no man’s land on Earth. This uninhabitable Antarctic tundra was named by an explorer for his wife, and because no one else has claimed it, the name stuck. The area was christened by Admiral Richard E. Byrd, who led the first exploratory flight over the area in 1929. He named the area after his wife, Marie. The previously unresearched region was so inhospitable the crew was unable to camp there, and instead set up on the neighboring Ross Ice Shelf"). Not sure exactly what Byrd was thinking..."Hi honey, I'm back from the Antarctic again!  I found the biggest uninhabitable, inhospitable place on earth where no one wants to go, and I named it after you!  (What?)

Second Expedition 1934
Although sponsored again by the National Geographic Society  Byrd still needed to raise additional funds. He understandably received mostly small donations. Just as important were corporate donations of not money but food, fuel, and supplies.

In the Antarctic expedition of 1933-35, 60 of the 82 members were Freemasons and on February 5, 1935, established First Antarctic Lodge No. 777 of New Zealand constitution.

The number 777 refers to perfection and isignificant in numerous religious and political contextsI have not found anything about this lodge. But Byrd did not spend the winter at the lodge - because he was in a remote shack at a weather station sucking carbon monoxide fumes!

Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1940)

Byrd's third expedition was the first one financed and conducted by the United States Government. The project included extensive studies of geology, biology, meteorology and exploration. Within a few months, in March 1940, Byrd was recalled to active duty in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. The expedition continued in Antarctica without him. So Byrd wasn't there!

Masonic lodges and some confusion:
The Federal Lodge #1 also known as the George Washington Lodge in DC is not the same lodge as the notorious Grand Masonic lodge (of conspiracy fame).  National Sojourners is an American patriotic organization of Freemasons who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Members are organized and meet in Chapters. The organization pursues its aims by assisting local Masonic authorities through initiatives that promote American patriotism and Americanism, both with the fraternity and the community.[2]These include: Youth Leadership Programs, essay contests, educational programs and involvement in ROTC and JROTC awards.  The numbers "777" are said to represent perfection in Jewish Kabbalah and Gematria.

777 and Other Qabalistic Writings of Aleister Crowley is a collection of papers written by Aleister Crowley. It is a reference book based on the Hermetic Qabalah.

Steve Quayle's E-mail address also ends with 777

"Top Secret" Nazi Maps:
Surfaced in a 1988 article in the National Examiner (see below) interview with Ernst Zundel.
They were later used by members of the Vril Society (Neo-Nazi/Hollow Earthers). I believe they are also fraudulent and may have been created by Zundel who was a member of the Vril Society.

A comparison of the maps created after the 1938-39 expedition shows Zundel may have altered portions of these in his book: "Germany's Antarctic Claim - Secret Nazi Polar Expeditions" (1978). (see maps below)

https://archive.org/details/CristoffFriedrichSecretNaziPolarExpeditions/page/n1/mode/2up/search/maps

The Russians are also involved in perpetuating them as being authentic claiming they were released by the KGB. As is Steve Quayle in this video from 2017:

Quayle reads the National Examiner article attributing it to Christoff Friedrich, not Ernst Zundel and even agrees with what the Vril Society believes - that the Nazis will eventually rule the world. Quayle spins this to be biblical prophecy and the "Nazi antichrist" will emerge from the secret base in Antarctica. (Stupid Steve Quayle)

ROLL CLIP

Zundel died at his family home in Germany 3 months after Quayle posted that video.
Quayle incorrectly refers to "RD" (Reichsdeutschen -"Imperial Germans" as "R and D" (research and development). And that Jewish prisoners were taken from Dachau to the
Antarctic base.

"Under the signature, H. Kohlmeier and under the signature field is written in very small letters:
Printed for the Navy in an edition of 1300 copies in the special laboratory of the Dachau concentration camp. January 1944."

"This means that the RDs already had the New Swabia colony in January 1944. New Berlin was founded and expanded at then. Another part of the map says that they need men and women to expand the territories of the Third Reich"
Note the Vril Society logo in the video: It's obvious Quayle never researched the origin!
Nor did he seem to know that Ernst Zundel was actually "the researcher." The Vril Society was likely inspired by another work of science fiction by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, The Coming Race, published anonymously in 1871. It has also been published as Vril, the Power of the Coming Race.

"Ernst Zundel is most famous for his Holocaust denial, but he was also famous for theorizing that UFOs are actually advanced craft created by the Third Reich. He was preceded by the work of Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier, who claimed the Vril Society, an occult Nazi conspiracy, made contact with Aryan aliens living in the Aldebaran system.
The strange “foo fighters” reported by Allied pilots were actually the first prototypes of anti-gravity craft designed by the society, incorporated into the SS. The craft was allegedly powered by an electromagnetic-gravitic engine known as the Thule Triebwerk. After the war, the surviving Nazis regrouped to Antarctica to continue development.
Bulgarian physicist Vladimir Terziski went even further, asserting that the Nazis had by 1942 landed on the Moon and later established bases there, which he claims has an atmosphere, water, and vegetation despite NASA’s propaganda to the contrary.

But it was Zundel, working off the success of von Daniken’s Chariots of the Gods and other UFOlogy books, who truly popularized the idea. Writing under the pseudonym Christof Friedrich, he claimed a secret Nazi expedition to Antarctica discovered an almost tropical area the size of Germany where they established bases and withdrew in a massive convoy in 1945 with their secret weapons in tow.
The CIA and KGB collaborated to keep the truth of the UFO phenomenon secret while they plotted to destroy the Nazis and establish a global dictatorship. Thankfully, an investigation of the evidence by UFOlogist Kevin McClure concluded the Nazi UFO mythos, like Holocaust denial, is nothing more than bigoted delusion."

U-209 Letter:
A letter from a crewman of U-209 showed up in the mid-1980s. There are several claims to its origin including a claim by Col. Billie Faye Woodard who said he had gone to the secret Nazi base and was given the letter to deliver to a person in Argentina.  I have posted links about this in my sources below.  By the way, Woodard has also lived in Mt. Shasta, CA and updated his/her Facebook photo in 2018 which shows he/she wearing a printed dress very similar to what my grandma used to wear!

"Hi, I have in my possession a copy of a letter written on 2 March 1985 from a gentleman named Karl Unger to Mr. Woodard concerning the submarine u-209 commanded by Heinrich Brodda.

"The Mr. Woodard that Joe Watson referred to in his email I later found out was Ret. Col., Billie Woodard."

(The original letter is dated April 20, 1947!  Adolf Hitler's birthday!)

U-209  was attacked by a British B-17 Flying Fortress of No. 220 Squadron RAF southeast of Iceland, on April 16th 1943, sustaining damage to her periscope. She was also attacked by a Canadian PBY Catalina (known as a Canso) of No. 5 Squadron RCAF on 4 May. The damage incurred included her radio transmitter, so a message to BDU (U-boat headquarters), was sent via U-954U-209 was recalled, but she was never heard from again. She was said to have been attacked again and sunk on 19 May by the Frigate HMS Jed and the Cutter HMS Sennen but this may have been mistaken for the U-954. At any rate, she was considered lost/sunk with all forty-six crew, there were no survivors.

Shipe "Stricken from Record:
USS Pine Island:

I came across these claims that several of the Highjump ships were suddenly "stricken from the record" because they had been sunk in 1947. This is totally false and anyone who has 10 minutes can look up when they were decommissioned, recommissioned or sold for scrap.

I got a message from someone who knew about the fate of the USS Pine Island:

Gary States, the asshole that assisted Dietrich in doxing myself and Jonn Lilyea for exposing him, says "the Doolittle raid did so little"
Really? I would point out the use of C-47 aircraft used in Operation Highjump in 1947 which were launched from a carrier!

But the Operation Highjump has now been infected with the UFO/Nazi syndrome.  Most people don't bother to research enough to know that Highjump was NOT classified and the Doolittle mission contributed to it!
"The seaplane tender USS Pine Island in that task force was the ship my dad served on. (Operation High Jump that is). I have a 32"x18" photo of it in my bedroom."

Pine Island deployed to WestPac in June 1964, she served at Da Nang, South Vietnam, in August. In September 1965, she returned to WestPac, conducted seaplane operations in Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam, and participated in the 1966 Coral Sea anniversary festivities in Australia and New Zealand before returning to San Diego in June. It also took place in Operation Market Time.

Decommissioned in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on 16 June 1967, Pine Island entered the Maritime Administration's National Defense Reserve Fleet, at Suisun Bay, CA, where she remained until stricken on 1 February 1971, and was later sold to Zidell Exploration of Portland, Oregon on 7 March 1972.

"My dad, who lived in Seattle, had served on "the Pine" in the mid-1950s. He went to the yard they were scrapping her and bought a small ship's bell and some bronze plaques. His bathroom door had a bronze plaque pronouncing it the "officers head."

Use of JATO:

Q. Was Highjump the first operational use of JATO?

A. Probably NOT: In early 1939, the National Academy of Sciences in the United States provided $1,000 to Theodore von Kármán and the Rocket Research Group (including Jack ParsonsFrank Malina,Edward Forman and Apollo M. O. Smith) at the Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology (GALCIT) to research rocket-assisted take-off of aircraft. This JATO research was the first rocket research to receive financial assistance from the U.S. government since World War I when Robert H. Goddard had an Army contract to develop solid fuel rocket weapons.[4][5][6] In late 1941 von Kármán and his team attached several 50-pound thrust, solid fuel Aerojet[dubious ] JATOs to a light Ercoupe plane, and Army Captain Homer Boushey took off on test runs. On the last run they removed the propeller, attached six RATO units under the wings, and Boushey was thrust into the air for a short flight, the first American to fly by rocket power only. Both armed services used solid fuel JATO during the war.[6]:329 JATO was tested on (April 1942) and used on bomber aircraft during
WW2.  (Doolittle Raid was in April 1942!)

Reason for no flights over Antarctica:

Early avionics; temps at 30k feet for hours; dangers and crash of Air New Zealand flight 901 in 1979 (257 killed).

Death of Adm. Byrds son:

ALZHEIMER'S BLAMED IN DEATH OF ADM. RICHARD BYRD'S SON
October 28, 1988

The state medical examiner has ruled that Alzheimer's disease contributed to the death of Richard E. Byrd Jr., 68, son of famed polar explorer Adm. Richard E. Byrd.

The younger Byrd's body was found Oct. 3 in a Hampden, Md., warehouse. He had been missing for three weeks after boarding a train in Boston for a trip to Washington.

Chief Medical Examiner John Smialek said Thursday that an autopsy has shown that Byrd died of "malnutrition and dehydration, contributed to by an underlying degenerative brain disease . . . Alzheimer's."

Alzheimer's is an organic brain disease that slowly robs its victims of their memory and other intellectual powers. It is characterized by memory lapses, confusion, loss of concentration and judgment, failure to recognize family and friends and a tendency to wander.

Its cause is unknown and there is no cure. It generally affects the elderly, although it can develop in people in their 40s.

It can only be positively diagnosed by examination of brain tissue after death.

The tests were completed Thursday, and microscopic examination of brain tissue showed the presence of Alzheimer's.

Byrd's family had not suspected that he had Alzheimer's.

Byrd had been dead for several days when his body was found in the warehouse Oct. 3. He wore a green workman's uniform and one shoe.

His wallet, luggage, and other personal property were missing. He was identified through a Boston Transit Authority card that was found pinned to his undershorts.

Byrd, a father of four, left Boston Sept. 13 by Amtrak to attend ceremonies the next day at the National Geographic Society in Washington to honor his father, who flew over the North Pole in 1926 and later led a series of expeditions to Antarctica.

He never showed up, however, and on Sept. 15 his family filed a missing- person report with police in Needham, Mass.

English translation of letter from Karl Unger
20 of April 1947
Dear old comrade,
This message will be a surprise to you. The U Boat 209 has made it, the Earth is HOLLOW! Dr. Haushofer and Hess were right.
The whole crew is doing well, but they cannot come back. We are not prisoners. I am certain, that this message will reach you, it is the last contact with the U 209.
We will meet again comrade. I am worried about the people that have to live on the surface since the Fuehrer is gone.
God bless our Germany always.
With hearty greetings,
Karl Unger
