Nearly two decades ago a  "Dr. David Lewis Anderson" suddenly appeared publicly claiming he was a "physicist" and " time travel insider" who had established what he called "time-warped field theory" while being "employed at a young age by the US Air Force".

Anderson had created the "Anderson Institute" complete with a slogan intended to cause historians to cringe in disgust: "Where history is becoming an experimental science" 

Anderson gained a bit of notoriety after first appearing as a guest with the late Art Bell on Coast to Coast AM in March 2002, and again in January 2010.

Art Bell introduced David Anderson at 38:18 - 39:50 

Anderson told Art Bell that he was conducting experiments in "time control" at a secure research center located in Long Island, NY, and calling using a satellite phone. He also said that there was also a "small office" maintained in Valley Forge, PA. and that he was funding the project himself.

Anderson claims he had been contacted by fiction writer Whitley Strieber who subsequently contacted Art Bell, which resulted in a second interview in January 2010.

 In his introduction of Anderson, Art Bell appeared to question the validity of Anderson's Bio! 

(4:05) "This Bio just brings up its own questions" 

(5:12) Bell: "What kind of phone are you on, Doctor?

Anderson: "Uh, I'm on a landline, uh, but we actually have a, we don't have landlines in the research center we are on a satellite connection right now."

Anderson claimed he was calling from a "secure research facility" in New Mexico, via satellite phone. He told Bell that his "Global Organization" now had scientists and labs in China, Japan, the middle east, and India.

Separation from USAF:

During the 2010 interview, he said:    (1:18:50 - 1:21:05)

"Two weeks prior I had already packed up all my belongings and shipped them back home.  I had my going away party, I was taken off active duty and was waiting for my flight, and two weeks before, the Air Force denied my separation. I had completed my contract, they denied it."

Anderson claimed that he appealed to his WV State Senator John Rockefeller to intervene and that a Congressional Inquiry was conducted of his case that lasted 8-9 months. 

Note: "Shipped" (not moved)  is a term normally used by personnel who served duty outside CONUS overseas.

(Most all ROTC graduates are commissioned with a 4-year contract.  Anderson graduated on Dec 28, 1983, so his contract would have been completed in Jan 1987). He would also have recently been promoted to Captain having met those requirements.

There are two things very wrong with this story.  The military does not approve an officer's resignation, remove him from active duty status and process him to leave his command, then suddenly deny the separation.  It just doesn't happen.

8-9 months kept from leaving the USAF would have been until Oct 1987. This is a lie because he got married in the United States in Feb 1987.

I have submitted a FOIA request to the NPRC for Anderson's releasable record of service. This record (NA-Form 13164), should confirm such resignation by listing his discharge as "Retired"

Art Bell seemed less impressed with Anderson's story. Bell was contacted by a listener who correctly noted it had been 8 years, not 5.

Anderson was also confronted by a caller to Art's show:

"The last caller was a young lady who just happened to be a Ph.D. candidate in physics (or at least that's what she said). 

She asked Anderson some very astute physics questions that involved some differential calculus. Dr. Anderson stuttered, sputtered, and fell flat on his face...almost. 

Art rescued him by cutting into the answer. Anderson obviously has some technical background otherwise he wouldn't have been offered a VP with Bosch. But he isn't a Ph.D. in physics." - Darby

A pattern of Movement:

After resigning his commission and leaving the USAF in early 1987, Anderson appears to have settled in the northeast.  The background report showed a number of addresses in Pennsylvania in the late '80s and early-mid '90s before he appears in upstate New York in approximately 1998.

Anderson created a charity he called the World Genesis Foundation in 1999-2000 in Rochester, NY., and at one point had PO Box addresses in both the Rochester area and Long Island, NY.

But sometime in the mid to late 2000s, Anderson suddenly appears in the midwest in Arizona and New Mexico.

NOTE: At that point, there appears to have been a pattern of movement from one place to another every two years until 2021-22.

I did a search on the Wayback machine and found a screen capture from 2012 which showed the price of the CD to be $22.95

Many people have complained that the CD was a scam.  Many received only an unwrapped CD case and no CD. Some said the CD contained only audio, partial video, or no video at all.

But, in 2010, Anderson inexplicably disappeared once again, leaving the world of the internet and conspiracy theorists with only rumor and speculation as time moved on.

Some have even speculated that Anderson was a fictional character  in the 2002 book Ong's Hat: The Beginning by Joseph Matheny and Peter Moon which later became  an internet reality game known as "Ong's Hat"

To this day, he has not appeared publicly, and never published anything. His previous companies, research, videos, and websites have gradually disappeared and his true whereabouts remain unknown.

Who is David Lewis Anderson?

Military Service:

- The photograph shown above was published only slightly larger than a "thumbnail" and is of such poor quality that the four service ribbons shown above the left breast pocket and name tag above the right breast pocket cannot be clearly identified.

Basic Flight Engineer School is at Lackland, AFB (San Antonio, TX) and lasts 5-6 months. Basic Technical Missile School is at Vandenburg AFB, CA, and is 60 classroom days.  8 months of required training.

- No disclosure by Anderson has ever been made of the year he received an officer's commission in the USAF or what years he actually served. 

- The progression in rank is based on time in grade. Two years from 2nd LT to 1st LT and two years from 1st LT to Captain. In Anderson's case, this represents 4 years of his service.

- Anderson has never disclosed his date of birth. According to Mylife.com, he was born on October 25, 1959. He is 62.

- Anderson has never published a timeline of his duty assignments, only that he served at USAF Systems Command, Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA.  There were four units listed under such a command from 1951 to 1992:

- Anderson has published only one photograph of himself in uniform which I find rather strange, especially considering the poor quality of the image.

Education:

A known prerequisite for an officer commission in the USAF is a four-year college degree. Anderson claims to have undergraduate, graduate, and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in engineering, physics, and philosophy, from four colleges. But, strangely, his bio does not clearly or individually connect each institution with a specific degree.

It also leads the reader to believe that he graduated with honors from all four. 

I did not find that he has ever published a doctoral thesis.

I contacted the office of the registrar at West Virginia University and they confirmed that Anderson earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in December 1983.

I contacted this source the evening of December 29, 2021, regarding his comment, and we spoke for some time. He is the former brother-in-law of David Anderson. He expressed to me that he does not regret posting the comment itself, only the phone number. 

He had also received numerous calls since posting the comment in 2014 from people defending Anderson and his time travel story.

 My source vouched for Anderson's education at WVU including ROTC and service in the USAF but stated he was stationed at Andersen AFB, CA - not Edwards AFB, CA.  Andersen AFB is located on the island of Guam.

 Anderson lied to my source. I know about the Base because it was a stop during my return MAC Flight home from the Philippines on January 28, 1986. (The day of the Challenger explosion). It's possible Anderson may have been stationed on Guam at that time.

As a journalist, I am obligated to protect his identity as a source and assured him I would do so. I also promised to contact the owner of the blog on his behalf to either redact his personal information or remove the comment entirely.  The owner, Sharon K. Grossman,  complied with his request and removed the comment on 12-31-21.

My source disclosed to me that after leaving the USAF in 1987, Anderson married his sister.  My source accuses David Anderson of later abandoning his wife and two children (girls ages 4 and 6) in 1994, never to be seen or heard from again.

 I believe that this is likely the reason for his disappearance and continued secrecy for nearly 30 years. I certainly never expected to find something so cruel and unforgivable.

 Was Anderson assigned to Guam?

NOTE: The only units in Guam during the years Anderson served (1983-1988) were the 43rd Airlift Wing and the 54th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron (WRS) assigned to the 41st Rescue and Weather Reconnaissance Wing.  The 54th WRS was inactivated in September 1987. Both units operated C-130 aircraft and were under Military Airlift Command.

I submitted a request for any information about Anderson to the  WVU USAF ROTC Recruiting Operations Officer in order to obtain his date of commission as a 2nd LT in the USAF.  This was his response.

Not a scientist, or Ph.D. 

Anderson listed attending the "Joint-Service Military College" which does not exist. The only thing similar is the Joint Forces Staff College at the National Defense University. https://jfsc.ndu.edu/

Normally, officers who qualify to attend a Command and Staff College have attained the rank of Major or above and meet the prerequisites for graduate study intended to prepare them for assuming higher command.

I also contacted the offices of admissions/registrar at California State and the University of Minnesota. Both deny Anderson ever attended and received a degree.

Therefore, Anderson's claim that he earned a degree in Physics and a doctorate (Ph.D.) is a complete falsehood.

No Patents:

Science fiction writer Peter Moon claims in this short video (1:50) to have a PDF file of an application filed by Anderson in 2009. He also claims that the application was "subsequently sequestered by the U.S. government"

According to "Darby" who discovered this company's press release, Anderson had at least "15 years of experience in the security industry"  from 1987 - 2002 when he was hired by Detection Systems, Inc. (Bosch Group) Fairport, NY.

I believe this press release may have been created by Anderson himself.

Because it included similar vague language found in his bio and lists experience with the following two companies:

Newsletter Scam:

 By the time that the show aired we were already aware that there was no "time travel research" laboratory, that the TTRA/TTRC consisted only of a PO Box, phone, and one staff to read the mail and the TTRA/TTRC "monthly" research newsletter sent to dues-paying members was a volume of one edition sent out month after month to new members who never saw a second edition. And membership was not cheap.

I remembered the 2002 interview with Art Bell and checked the background report for any address on Long Island, NY.  And sure enough:

This also conflicts with his other address in Rochester, NY at the same time in 2002. 

At this point, there is a gap of 8 years where I find no specific information about his whereabouts at all.  The period also corresponds with the 8 years Art Bell mentioned he "disappeared". 

In 2010, he tells Bell he is in at an "undisclosed location in New Mexico."

I later find the address to be that of a Santa Fe, NM UPS Store.

"I copied & pasted the above price list but it didn't format correctly. The two prices are for in the US and outside the US. As I said in another post, Anderson's involvement in "time travel research" was just one method he used to get people to send him money. 

In the past few years he's had a dozen or more websites, mostly set up to appear to be non-profits (and maybe they are - I didn't do that much research) under the general umbrella of the Anderson Institute/Anderson Multinational LLC - New York (www.andersoninstitute.com)- all requesting money. I checked on the sites last night and they are now all defunct. Only the World Genesis Foundation remains."

 Do I believe that Anderson is a grifter? Yes. Can I prove that he's a grifter? No. But I won't be buying any of his products. The only reason that I paid him the fee back in 2001 was to see just what sort of scam it was. When he proved to me that he was precisely what I suspected I'd had enough."

The output will be the corporate filing for Anderson International and it will list the corporate headquarters for this worldwide "giant" as 620 Park Ave, #308, Rochester, NY 14607. Google Earth the address. No hi-tech ultra-modern worldwide headquarters. It's a flat-roof apartment building in a residential neighborhood. At least it's a step up from the old Time Travel Research Association. It wasn't even an apartment or house. 

Smithtown, NY PO box location

That ultra-modern high-tech super-secret research lab working on the very cutting edge of time travel technology was a PO Box in Smithtown, NY, and a phone answering service. After he shut down the TTRA he formed World Genesis Foundation. For the remaining time that he lived in Smithtown, World Genesis had the same PO Box and phone number as TTRC. It changed to his apartment in Rochester when he moved."

"Then try World Genesis Foundation, Wisdom Art, Santa Fe, NM, Rapid Express Transport, Internet Solutions People (my favorite - they use IBM's "Big Blue" corporate logo font face to make their own logo "ISP". Cute), ...you'll get the idea from there. Follow the links. There used to be a lot more sites but they all went down last July. The two things they all had in common were Anderson Multinational, LLC and World Genesis Foundation.

With the exception of the letterheads, both letters are worded identically! 

Only one of them bears an official stamp and signature. Unusual? Perhaps. Only one of them is dated (illegibly). Anderson's acceptance of these Romanian nominations is unknown.

Suspicious Behavior:

Comments to that article indicated that Anderson and Heather Caton were in Arizona in 2009-2010 at an RV park for seniors which made them a bit nervous.

This indicates that Anderson has either owned (and still might own) or rented an RV.

No mention of Anderson appears any longer on the WGF website as having been the founder, former CEO, or financial benefactor. Meanwhile, he has been reported since 2010 to have been in London, India, Africa, and Romania.

Connection to Peter Moon and Douglas Dietrich:

One of Anderson's most active apologists is none other than Douglas Duane Dietrich's promoter and publicist Peter Moon.

I have always found the connection between Moon and Anderson to be kind of suspicious.  

Peter Moon is actually the pen name of fiction writer and publisher Vincent Edward Barbarick (69), owner of Sky Books.

Moon states that he met his second wife in Romania.  She is the daughter of Tamarinda Maassen.  AKA Tatiana Maassen.  Maassen has claimed to be "Ambassador to the Kingdom of Inner Earth and Master Teacher of the Ancient School of Wisdom"

Years later, Moon became involved with Douglas Duane Dietrich and recently co-authored and published "The Roswell Deception and the Demystification of WW2"
